A young Scots mum carrying a cancerous tumour in her lung is hoping to travel to Mexico for potentially life-saving treatment.
Stephanie Scullion was diagnosed with differentiated synovial sarcoma in March 2020 and has since undergone several gruelling procedures to get rid of the tumour.
The 35-year-old was originally found to have a cancerous tumour that was "raging and rapidly growing", which eventually came out of her right lung and attached to the lining of her heart.
Stephanie's gruelling fight back against the cancer has taken its toll, according to Glasgow Live.
During one of four attempts at a biopsy of the tumour, her right lung collapsed.
And in the following six months of chemotherapy, she was left with severe osteoporosis, sepsis, and pneumonia and ended up in intensive care.
The mum-of-one then underwent another nine-hour long procedure in December 2020 to try to remove the full lung - but was later told that it would have to remain intact otherwise she could die.
In a bid to stop her coughing up lumps of blood throughout the day, she was placed on radiotherapy.
Stephanie, from Glasgow, is currently receiving palliative care and faces another gruelling round of chemotherapy to keep the tumour at bay.
Only three rounds of treatment will be offered to try and stop the growth before there will be nothing else medics can do.
Friend Toni Ryan said: "Stephanie has now just arrived home from the hospital as she now has pericardial effusion which is a build-up of blood around her heart which leaves her feeling like she is having a heart attack every time this flares up.
"Stephanie received great care at the hospital and it was explained to her that it's her tumour causing her heart to have a reaction and fill with fluid between the double layer around the heart."
A fundraiser has now been set up to allow her to travel to Mexico for potentially life-saving treatment that could allow her to begin to start living her life again with seven-year-old Savannah.
Toni added: "We have come across a place in Mexico which has an outstanding success rate in curing people's 'incurable cancer'.
"After getting in contact with them and going through numerous consultations they have given her the amazing news that they can help her and can help her naturally with no harmful chemicals like the chemotherapy.
"As you can imagine this could be life-saving treatment so unfortunately, this does come with a very high cost. As a family we will be giving all we can, donating weekly and will try to get Stephanie over there but we could use your help.
"Stephanie's little girl Savannah has been watching her mum go through all this for too long now and needs her mum to get better and can't go through every day of worrying if her mum is going to be okay.
"She needs her healthy happy mum back by her side.
"Stephanie would also like anyone else who is also battling cancer to get in contact with her to find out more about this treatment and hopefully she can give them some hope."
So far an impressive £14,000 has been raised for Stephanie towards the £60,000 goal.
She said: "I've never asked anyone for a penny and would never but this could be life-saving for not just me but mainly for my Savannah!
"I've never been so desperate in my life my family and I will put all we can but we are going to need a wee bit of help.
"If anyone could spare even a pound as every pound adds up or share my post it would be well and truly appreciated."

Stephanie's story comes after the Record reported on the tale of Stonehaven mum Elif Hector, who is also fundraising for treatment in Mexico after being told she had months to live in March.
Elif, who had a tumour the size of a basketball removed from her chest in 2020, tearfully told how her cancer is now terminal.
A final bid for private treatment is being shared through charity website GoFundMe.
