The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Glasgow this coming weekend.
Forecasters said that the city - and much of the surrounding area - should prepare for thunderstorms this Sunday after weeks of sunshine and dry spells.
In their warning, which extends to Ireland and much of England, they say that "whilst many places will be largely dry, thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail are likely to develop in some places on Sunday afternoon."

The full warning reads: "High temperatures on Sunday will trigger a scattering of showers across the warning area, some of which are likely to be torrential and thundery, perhaps bringing a few places 30-40 mm in an hour.
"As well as rain, additional hazards will be hail, strong gusts of wind, and lightning will be additional hazards. Despite this, many places in the warning area will remain dry, or only see small amounts of rain, due to the scattered nature of the heaviest showers."
When will the Glasgow yellow weather warning come into effect?
The forecasters have said that the yellow warning will come into force on Sunday (June 11) at 12pm and end on the same day at 9pm.
What to expect from the Met Office yellow weather warning
The Met Office have said that locals under the warning can expect the following:
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
- Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
- Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
Does this mean Glasgow's heatwave is over?
Despite the sad news of a dreich Sunday, there is good news with the thunderstorms appearing to clear the air for another bright week - and perhaps our sunniest one yet with highs of 27C predicted by the Met office themselves next week and lows of 14C.
So don't put away your shorts and sunglasses just yet, folks.
