Glasgow Maryhill police appeal dropped as officers confirm 'no criminality involved'

Police have dropped an appeal for information over a 'serious assault' in Maryhill after establishing that no criminality was involved.

A 41-year-old man was found seriously injured on the road in Hathaway Lane at around 5.50pm on Sunday.

The man was rushed by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police confirm that, following enquiries by officers since the incident was reported, it has been established that the man had instead fallen.

A Police Scotland update on the incident reads: "Around 5.50pm on Sunday, 20 March, 2022, a 41-year-old man was found seriously injured on the road on Hathaway Lane in the Maryhill area of Glasgow.

The man was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers have been conducting enquiries since the incident was reported and it has been established that the man has fallen and there was no criminality involved."
