The historic Marks & Spencer store on Sauchiehall Street will close for good today after 87 years.
The shock closure was announced back in January, with M&S blaming “changing shopping habits” which required them to focus their investment "on the right stores in the right places".
The retailer added that they would continue to invest in their 12 other stores in Glasgow, including their Argyle Street branch.

The Sauchiehall Street site was its first in Scotland with an in-store café. It retains the frontage of the Art Deco building that opened in November 1935.
Stuart Patrick, chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said the closure will come as a "significant blow" for Sauchiehall Street - which has fallen into decline in recent years with the former BHS building left derelict and Watt Brothers closing in 2019.
Back in January, Councillor Angus Millar, who co-chairs a city centre task force set up to help reopen the economy following lockdown, said a master plan is needed to revitalise the troubled street, addressing the changing use of city centres.
