Glasgow man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after crashing involving e-bike and car

A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a serious crash in the Milton area of Glasgow yesterday.

Police and emergency services were called reports of a two-vehicle crash on Haywood Street at the junction with Chapelton Street around 2:40pm.

The collision occurred between an electric assisted bike and a grey Ford Focus.

The 23-year-old was rushed by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. The driver of the car was not injured.

A police cordon was put in place, with the road shut off to traffic for around two hours.

Police enquiries into the crash are ongoing. They are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Paul Mellis, of Glasgow Road Policing, said: “Our enquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnesses the crash or who has any information which may assist us to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone driving on that road around the time of the crash with dash-cam footage to get in touch.”
