A man has appeared in court charged with firearms and serious organised crime offences after being extradited from Brazil to Scotland.
James White, 44, had a European Arrest Warrant issued against him in 2019. He was located in Brazil in 2020 and Police Scotland then submitted an extradition request to the authorities.
White tried to halt the process by appealing the move to Brazil's supreme court but in November last year judges ruled the application was valid and could proceed.

He has now appeared in private at Hamilton Sheriff Court where he faced a total of 26 charges including two prosecutors allege are linked to serious organised crime.
White faces 14 charges under the Firearms Act including possessing firearms and having them without a licence and also one under the Explosive Substances Act.
He is further charged with reset, being concerned in the supply of drugs and also concealing, disguising, converting and transferring criminal property.
White, of Glasgow, made no plea and was remanded in custody by Sheriff Linda Nicolson.
He is due to make another appearance in the dock within the next eight days.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that a 44-year-old man is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, 8 August 2022 in connection with serious organised crime offences.
"He had been extradited from Brazil on an international arrest warrant."
