Glasgow Jamaica Street serious assault sees young boy rushed to hospital for treatment

A young boy was rushed to hospital after being attacked in Glasgow city centre.

The incident took place on Jamaica Street around 9:40pm last night (Sunday).

The 14-year-old victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to 'serious' injuries.

Police say they are following a positive line of inquiry as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack, the Daily Record reports.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.40pm on Sunday, 3 April, 2022, officers were called to a report of a 14-year-old male having been seriously assaulted in Jamaica Street, Glasgow.

"He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be treated for his injuries.

"Officers are following a positive line of enquiry."
