Glasgow hotel welcomes Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden rockers after huge shows

Two of the world's biggest rock and heavy metal bands checked in at the same plush Glasgow hotel during their stay in the city.

Iron Maiden and Guns N' Roses both played in the city over two consecutive nights with both bands heading back to the five-star Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel after entertaining crowds.

One music lover who was at both gigs was stunned to see the two bands were staying in the same hotel, reports the Scottish Daily Express. Thankfully for the hotel, their partying days are mostly behind them.

The fan said: "I was at Iron Maiden at the Hydro on Monday and I was still feeling a bit rough when I had a meeting at the Blythswood on Tuesday lunchtime. Iron Maiden were just leaving as I arrived then I saw Duff McKagan come out of the lifts and walk across the lobby.

"There were quite a few fans outside waiting for autographs but I was in my suit so I didn't want to go and ask for a selfie. I would've waited to see Slash and Axl but I had to meet some clients so I couldn't stick around. I bet the hotel bar was lively on Monday night though."

Iron Maiden took to the stage of the OVO Hydro on Monday night before Guns N' Roses played their much-awaited show at Bellahouston Park on Tuesday.

We reported how Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris popped into the Pot Still bar for a pint of Guinness. Celtic legend Frank McAvennie, who also used to play for Steve's favourite club, West Ham, was snapped with the musician.
