Several guests staying at a Glasgow hotel were abruptly woken up to the harsh sounds of a fire alarm and evacuated from the building in the early hours on Thursday, May 11.
Around two dozen guests at Premier Inn could be seen standing outside in the cold, for an hour, after being removed from the George Street hotel when the fire alarm sounded at around 12.20am.
A guest, whose room was on the sixth floor of the hotel, recalls water "pouring from the ceiling and onto the carpet" during the incident which saw three fire engines believed to have attended the scene.

Some guests were not allowed back in their room until 3.30am - over three hours later.
The guest, who wishes to remain anonymous, told GlasgowLive: "When I reached the main hallway where the lifts and stairs are there was water pouring from the ceiling and onto the carpet.
"At the 5th floor the water had soaked through the ceiling and was starting to create a puddle on that floor but at that point I couldn't see any damage on the 4th floor.
"Everybody made their way down to the street where staff were guiding us to a safe spot.
"Hotel staff updated us regularly and checked everybody was okay; seats were brought out for those who were unable to stand.
"We were allowed back in the hotel around an hour later with those on floors 1-3 being allowed back in their rooms."
They added: "Floors 4-6 were asked to make their way to the restaurant. We were told that a plumber and electrician were on their way and we may be around an hour so staff provided us with cold drinks, water and a cuppa if we wanted.
"Everybody made themselves as comfortable as they could and they provided more chairs for those that were standing.
"We got an update every 30 minutes or so, we were checked on regularly and most people either struck up a conversation or fell asleep.
"Around 3:30am we were allowed back to our rooms and by this time all the water had been pretty much dried from the floors.
"The team there was really helpful, courteous and kind."
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed their attendance but said it turned out to be a 'false alarm'.
A SFRS spokesperson said: "We were called out to the Premier Inn on George Street, Glasgow at 12.25am which turned out to be a false alarm."
Premier Inn called the SFRS following a water leak on one of the floors.
A spokesperson said: "We called the fire brigade to our George street site yesterday due to a water leak on one of our floors. We evacuated guests to ensure that the issue was thoroughly looked at before they were able to safely return to their rooms."
