Glasgow homes without water for second time in one week after more burst pipes

THREE burst water mains have left homes in Glasgow without water for the second time in one week.

Scottish Water said it is working to restore supply in the G41 area of Shawlands after the mains burst on St Andrews Drive, St Andrews Road, and Maxwell Drive.

The company said the mains had broken after a major burst to a 27-inch water main on Saturday, February 1 left thousands without water.

Scottish Water said:

  • The burst on St Andrews Road has been repaired and the main is now recharging.
  • The burst on St Andrews Drive has been isolated but is not currently impacting customers.
  • Repairs are ongoing at Maxwell Drive.

"We are committed to supporting those affected, and our customer care team is providing bottled water where needed while maintaining direct contact with our Priority Service Register customers to offer additional assistance."

Pollokshaws Road remains closed between Maxwell Road and Albert Drive for essential reinstatement work.
