Glasgow Frightfest tickets go on sale with Winnie the Pooh horror Blood and Honey set to debut

Tickets for Frightfest have gone on sale with the much-anticipated Winnie the Pooh horror Blood and Honey set to be the star of the show.

Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s slasher parody sees Hundred Acre Wood as you’ve never seen it before, with a very different Pooh and Piglet (now a very feral and bloodthirsty pair) are back to wreak havoc on a much older Christopher Robin and a house full of unsuspecting victims.

The movie leads an exciting lineup of films including the UK premiere of brooding occult chiller Mother Superior, the European premiere of Christopher Smith’s Scottish horror Consecration, and the UK premiere of Smoking Causes Coughing, a quirky, absurdist comedy sci-fi fantasy from visionary director Quentin Dupieux.

Other films include the UK premiere of Sisu , a pulverizing, nerve-shredding and spectacularly gory WW2 action epic by Finnish director Jalmari Helander and the World premiere of Little Bone Lodge, an atmospheric twisty thriller from Matthias Hoene, director of Cockneys vs Zombies, which stars Joely Richardson.

Spanish box-office smash 13 Exorcisms, based on recent events in Spain, will conclude the fun festival of horror.

FrightFest Weekend Passes are £75, while individual tickets for the Friday and Saturday films are priced at £11.50 / £9.30 (concessions) and are available from the GFF website.

Festival co-director Alan Jones said: “FrightFest is one of the most potent forces on the horror, science fiction and extreme thriller landscape, a reputation that has firmly placed it in the Top 10 Essential Fantasy Festivals List.

"And we aim to stay ahead of the chiller curve, returning to the incomparable Glasgow Film Festival with a shiver and shudder showcase of epic proportions."
