Glasgow EasyJet flight declares mid-air emergency as passengers delayed

An Easyjet flight from Glasgow to Amsterdam has declared a mid-air emergency.

The plane took off from Glasgow International Airport at 2.50pm today (June 19) and was scheduled to land in Amsterdam at 5.25pm.

However, the plane issued a squawk 7700 code - signalling an emergency onboard.

Traffic control in the area were alerted to the mid-air emergency while the plane was flying over the North Sea.

It is currently not clear why the emergency was announced, as passengers remain delayed with their new estimated arrival time being 6pm.

Easyjet have been approached for comment.
