Glasgow drivers have been warned after road closures near to Ibrox Stadium have been extended.
Sections of Edmiston Drive from the junction with Paisley Road West to the junction with Broomloan Road have been closed since early July. This is down to Scottish Water undertaking works to improve their service.
It was due to finish up next week but the closure has now been extended from Tuesday, September 20 for a further two weeks. The extension affects a 200 metre stretch of Edmiston Drive. Those travelling through the area are urged to plan ahead and leave extra time for journeys. Scottish Water chiefs released a statement.

It read: "Scottish Water is advising road users in south west Glasgow of an extension to a road closure during work on improvements to our service to customers. The closure has been extended for two weeks from Tuesday, September 20 to enable some repair work on an adjacent sewer.
"The extension is on a 200-metre stretch of Edmiston Drive, west of Ibrox Primary School. A diversion route will continue to be signposted and pedestrian access will be maintained.
"We apologise for any inconvenience and thank affected road users in advance for their patience and understanding. We have liaised with Glasgow City Council’s roads department while planning our work and road traffic management.
"There will be an increase in traffic along the diversion route and road-users are advised to allow additional time for their journeys."
The statement continued: "Spectators travelling by road to and from football matches at Ibrox Stadium are also advised to allow more time for their journeys. The work is part of the Glasgow Resilience Project, which involves the installation of seven miles of new pipes to connect the Glasgow area’s water network and the system in Ayrshire.
"This will increase resilience and protect supplies for about one million customers. The new water main is being installed in the Ibrox, Mosspark, Pollok, Priesthill, Nitshill and Parkhouse areas of Glasgow.
"The project is being delivered for Scottish Water by Caledonia Water Alliance, our alliance partner, and is expected to be completed in 2023."
