A Glasgow councillor has backed a new organisation which supports the union, led by Northern Ireland’s former first minister Arlene Foster.
Conservative councillor Thomas Kerr attended the Scottish launch of the Together UK Foundation held in Glasgow on Friday.
A picture was shared on social media of the Shettleston politician at the Ibrox trophy room alongside Mrs Foster, former council candidate John White and South Ayrshire council leader Martin Dowey.

Councillor Kerr said: “I am always delighted to attend events which champion our United Kingdom and this was no different on Friday evening.
“It coincided nicely with the Scottish Conservative and Unionist conference also being held in Glasgow over the weekend and I was pleased to have the time to attend alongside a former First Minister of Northern Ireland.
“A robust exchange of ideas were exchanged at the fantastic new Edmiston House near Ibrox. I will always stand up for Glasgow and Scotland’s place in the United Kingdom and will continue to work with like-minded individuals across the United Kingdom.”
The Together UK Foundation was set up in September and is chaired by Mrs Foster.
Sharing the Ibrox photo on Twitter, Mr White said: “Delighted to attend the Scottish launch of Arlene Foster’s Together UK Foundation.
“Top marks for anyone that can guess where we are.”
The tweet got a huge reaction attracting a mixture of differing political views.
Former DUP leader Mrs Foster said: “So last night it was Glasgow. Thanks to everyone who made our Scottish launch so memorable.”
The foundation is described as a "not-for-profit, non-party political organisation" with the purpose "to proactively inform and engage debate on the benefits for all parts of the UK."
