Glasgow City Council has confirmed that Monday September 19 will be a public holiday for the city.
This comes after the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II who passed away on Thursday (September 8).
The funeral will be held on September 19 in London with her coffin is currently in Edinburgh where she lies in rest at Holyroodhouse before being moved to St Giles' Cathedral.

The State Funeral will be considered national day of mourning and with that schools and nurseries will close, the council has confirmed.
Writing in a statement on Twitter, they said: "On Mon 19/09, a Public Holiday has been granted for a day of National Mourning for the State Funeral of HM The Queen.
"On this day we'll continue to provide essential services, keeping our city mobile, clean and safe. All other services including schools and nurseries will close."
Replying to a comment, they also confirmed that any funerals planned for that day will go ahead as normal.
Queen Elizabeth II reigned for 70 years, the longest-reigning monarch, surpassing Queen Victoria. Her Majesty passed away on Thursday September 10 in her beloved Balmoral estate.
Her son, Charles was made king immediately with his wife Camilla given the title of Queen Consort. King Charles III and Queen Consort will be making their way to Scotland for the procession that will take place from Holyroodhouse to St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh.
