Glasgow city centre street shut down as police attend ongoing incident

A street in Glasgow's city centre has been shut down following an ongoing incident this evening.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Stockwell Place at around 8.10pm today (Sunday, April 3).

The road is current closed to all through traffic as officers attend.

It is not currently known if anyone has been injured in the incident.

Glasgow City Council's Traffic Control and Management team confirmed the road closure, stating: "Due to a Police incident Stockwell Place is closed to through traffic. Access is allowed to St Enochs outside car park."

Police Scotland confirmed their attendance at the incident to Glasgow Live , stating they were at the scene of an "ongoing police incident".
