Glasgow city centre accident sparks warning to drivers to find alternative route

Drivers in Glasgow have been advised to use an alternative route following a crash in the city centre this evening.

The collision has occurred at the junction of Renfield Street and Bath Street.

As a result, Renfield Street was reduced to one lane and Bath Street was completely blocked to traffic, Glasgow City Council's traffic management department — TRAFFCOM — confirmed via an alert issued at 7:40pm.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 7.40pm on Thursday, 5 May, 2022, officers were called to reports of a crash involving a bus and a car on Bath Street, Glasgow. There were no reports of serious injuries."

UPDATE: Renfield Street and Bath Street are fully open now.
