A CINEMA in Glasgow has warned viewers not to take part in a disruptive online trend.
The Renfrew Street Cineworld has shared a post on social media asking cinemagoers to be respectful following reports of a trend that includes making "excessive noise" during A Minecraft Movie.
Bosses at the world's tallest cinema warned anyone taking part in the trend could be removed from the theatre.
In a post on Instagram they wrote: "We’ve been informed of reports of an online trend that includes making excessive noise during A Minecraft Movie.
"We would like to remind everyone to please be respectful to those around them by not making noise nor being on their phones during any movie.
"Failure to do so may result in ejection from the cinema."
They also reminded the public that filming a short video of reactions to any such trend that includes picture and/ or sound of any movie in a cinema is considered piracy.
They added: "Please do, as always, let a member of staff know of any disruptive behaviour so that we can resolve this quickly."
Videos on social media apps such as TikTok show audiences cheering and clapping loudly during particular scenes throughout the film which stars Jack Black, Jason Momoa and Jennifer Coolidge.
A Minecraft Movie was released in UK cinemas on Friday, April 4.
The fantasy adventure comedy is based on the 2011 video game Minecraft, which is the bestselling video game of all time.
