The Chef Patron began cooking from a young age, saying: "I started making myself and my family dinner and fell in love with cooking, now I really enjoy making people happy in my restaurant.”
When describing his style of cooking, Gordon said: "“My food is eclectic. I've taken influence from David Everitt- Matthias when I did a stage there.
"Thomas Keller, his French Laundry book was the best thing I had ever seen when I started cooking. I also follow the work of David Chang as I love the Momofuku restaurants and what they do - taking on loads of different styles of food and putting them together.”
He added: “My highlights of being a chef so far are making it into the Michelin Guide, Good Food Guide and being awarded an AA Rosette in my own restaurants.”
Gordon feels that now is the right time to showcase his skills on the big screen, and wants to take on new challenges on the show. He said: “I wanted to step out my comfort zone and have a new challenge.
"I’ve always wanted take part in MasterChef: The Professionals and watch it pretty much every year, so now is the time."
Gordon will take on the white apron on Wednesday, November 23 at 9:10pm on BBC One.
