A Glasgow chef has been jailed after trying to murder a man he claimed was a bully.
Aymen Bejaoui stabbed Kamal Walid, having earlier threatened to kill him. The 34 year-old, who struck outside a restaurant on Union Street in the early hours, has been banged up for seven and a half years after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.
Sentencing Bejaoui at the High Court in Glasgow, judge Lord Matthews told him: "The victim will be scarred for life and is lucky to be living. If it was not for the medical attention, it is likely he would have died.
"You claim there was a history of bullying by him and threats made. Assuming that to be true, you should have gone to the police. Instead, you threatened him with a knife and attempted to murder him."

Bejaoui, of Dennistoun, would have been jailed for 10 years, but for the guilty plea.
The previous hearing was told there had earlier been an incident between the men on August 14, 2022
Mr Walid had been outside eating food with a friend when Bejaoui approached and stated: "You are s**t. I am going to kill you."
He then pointed a knife before eventually running off.
The victim and his friend were later at the Calabash restaurant in Union Street.
Prosecutor John McElroy KC said Bejaoui turned up outside and appeared to be "actively seeking" Mr Walid.
Mr Walid was then in the street as Bejaoui was caught on camera racing towards him.
Mr McElroy: "Bejaoui struck him twice to the left side of the chest with a knife.
"Mr Walid managed to fight him off and punched him to the ground.
"The fall caused him to drop the knife onto the road."
Police nearby broke through a large crowd and tried to restrain Bejaoui. He attempted to grab the knife again as a female constable challenged him.
He was eventually handcuffed before he later stated: "I've never hurt anyone before tonight. I am a chef."
The victim needed life-saving treatment having been stabbed. He suffered a collapsed lung and is permanently scarred.
