Glasgow cat doused in bleach suffers horrific burns in heartbreaking attack

A heartbreaking picture has emerged of a cat doused in bleach in a horrific attack in Glasgow.

Little Rambo suffered serious injuries when he was "burned" with the cleaning fluid last month.

Now his owner, Linda McDonald, is facing massive vet bills for treatment to help her much loved pet recover from the traumatic incident.

Her friend Fiona Trodden has set up a fundraising page to help cover the costs of fees, and appealed to the public to lend a hand.

So far £4,720 has been raised, with donations pouring in from well wishers.

Posting on the Go Fund Me page Fiona explained: "I've started this fundraiser as lots of people had enquired if possible to donate to help pay the vet bills after my friends cat was burned with bleach.

"I think we all agree this is a horrific thing to do to an animal. Rambo has had extensive burns over his body and internally.

"He's already had overnight stays at the vets, but these are expensive. I can't stand by and watch my friend stress over vet bills when she's already dealing with a poorly cat and the trauma of having this done to her fur baby.

"I understand times are hard so I just want to thank everyone, even the smallest donation helps. Thanks for caring and helping."

The community has flocked to the fundraising page to show their support for Rambo.

Sharon Granger said: "I hope this wee soul recovers from this horrific incident. Sending healing thoughts."

Angela Daly wrote: "Come on wee Rambo, hang on in there. I’m sure you will get the funds you need Linda, thinking of the wee soul."

Gregg Kearney added: "It was heartbreaking reading about Rambo for the first time. Haven’t stopped thinking about him since. Fingers crossed."

Allan Lindsay said: "Can't believe how evil and cowardly this act is."
