Glasgow cafes and restaurants named 'top 10%' in the world by Tripadvisor for 2022

When it comes to Glasgow's food scene, we're pretty lucky that we have many great eateries right on our door step.

From award-winning cafés serving up some delicious brunch and coffee to fine dining restaurants being named as some of the UK's best, it's clear we're not just being bias.

But now confirming our thoughts, Tripadvisor have awarded some local businesses with the title of 'Travellers Choice 2022' with them being named as the top 10 per cent in their category in the world.

According to the travel review website, "Travellers' Choice recognizes businesses that earn consistently great reviews. Travellers' Choice award-winners are among the top 10 per cent of listings on Tripadvisor."

They add: "Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice honours select accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently demonstrate a commitment to hospitality excellence. "

Taking a look at some of the top Glasgow cafes and restaurants, the review website has handed some much-loved faces the award naming the likes of Amalfi Glasgow, Number 16 and Fanny Trollopes as some of the favourites for this year, thanks to the publics reviews and ratings.

In addition, cafes such as Cafe Strange Brew, Soup's On and the Cake Lady and Scran - who are currently listed a number one in the Glasgow café category - have also been awarded the title.

Top spots for a sweet treats in and around the city centre were also selected for being part of the top 10 per cent with Tantrum Doughnuts, Rawnchy and The Hidden Lane Tearoom coming out on top.

And no, it doesn't stop there as just recently The Gannet was awarded 'Best of the Best' in this years awards. According to Tripadvisor, the fine dining establishment is listed in seventh place out of 10 with them releasing the list in a bid to "help provide inspiration on the top spots to dine out whatever the occasion, whether at home or while travelling."

Taking to Instagram to share the good news, one Glasgow café thanked their customers with E-Street Cafe writing: "A wise man once said 'you're a fool if you believe the bad stuff and you're even more a fool if you believe the good stuff'. This is lovely as it's reviews that people have taken their time to post and for the most part, they have enjoyed their visit.

"That's the best form of recompense; we love that you guys love coming! Thank you forever and always, Kerry, Allana, Dom, Big Dave and Paul, THE E STREET GANG."

A number of other Glasgow eateries have also been awarded the Travellers Choice award. You can spot them as they will have the green logo on their Tripadvisor page - congratulations to them all!
