Glasgow cafe which featured in Still Game put on sale as closure announced

A GLASGOW cafe which featured in Still Game has announced its closure, after being listed for sale.

Robyn's Nest, on Lochburn Road in Maryhill, revealed the news on Facebook.

In the post, the owners of the venue said they were "sad" to announce its closure.

The bosses of the eatery said that while they will be closing the cafe, it will remain open until further notice.

In the Facebook post, Robyn's Nest said: "We are sad to announce the closure of Robyn’s Nest.

"We had 15 years of running the cafe, meeting amazing customers, some of who became friends, and watching families grow who visited us regularly, unfortunately, we have tried to maintain our business but with local business closures and not being able to recover from the effects of Covid, we needed to do what is best for our family.

"We will remain still open until further notice.

"Thank you to everyone who visited us and supported our business for all the years, we really appreciate it."

The cafe has since been listed for sale by the Scottish Business Agency. The popular food spot has been put on the market for £100,000.

A description of the property read: "This premises has traded as ‘Robyn’s Nest' for over 12 years, with the tenant deciding to retire, the current landlord has decided to sell the property.

"This is being sold as a vacant possession.

"Set over the one level, this traditional cafe is suited to many types of business, subject to the use class and planning.

"Popular local businesses include barbers, beauty salons, cafes, takeaways and retail shops.

"There are 20 covers with a service area and a fitted kitchen with extraction to the rear.

"Please note the current tenant owns the fixtures and fittings, these will be removed prior to sale.

"The extraction/hood will remain.

"Fantastic opportunity for an owner-operator or investor."

The pair, who play Jack and Victor respectively, could be seen dressed as their characters in front of the venue.

The cafe featured in the show, however, it was called "Rendevous Cafe".
