The latest burger chain to hit Glasgow has announced they’ll be giving away free burgers on September 16.
Fat Hippo, which is opening on St Vincent Street this weekend, has been popping up across the country in recent years and now operates in 12 cities across the UK. They’ve become popular for their ‘get it all over your face’ food.
The burger chain specialises in beef and boneless buttermilk chicken burgers, as well as a range of vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options - and we can’t forget the loaded fries. The spot will offer a sit-in restaurant, as well as being available for delivery on Deliveroo.

Posting to their Twitter account, Fat Hippo said: “Free burgers on Friday, Glasgow.
“We said good burgers come to those who wait Glasgow, and boy have you waited. As a big thank you for all of your support and patience, we’re going to treat the first 100 people on Friday to their burgers and fries on us.
“Simply be one of the first 100 burger lovers to walk-in and see us between 11.30am-3pm on Friday to receive your treat. Please note there will be no bookings during this time - nice try.”
The Glasgow eatery will be the chain’s second Scottish location, after opening in the St James Quarter in Edinburgh last year. Michel Philips, who founded Fat Hippo in England in 2010, said: “When we were given the opportunity to bring Fat Hippo to Glasgow centre, we couldn’t turn it down.
“The building on St Vincent Street is the ideal location for our brand new restaurant, and we’re so excited to be able to welcome everyone for a taste of ‘the good kind of gluttony’.”
Michael Johnson, Operations Manager at Fat Hippo, added: “We can’t wait to bring the best burgers to Glasgow and welcome even more people into our ever-growing herd of burger lovers.”
