A new stretch of water main is due to be installed as part of the Glasgow Resilience Project. Seven miles of new pipes will be installed to connect the Glasgow area’s water network and the system in Ayrshire.
Scottish Water has said the connection will "increase resilience and protect supplies for about one million customers".
The new water main is being installed in the Ibrox, Mosspark, Pollok, Priesthill, Nitshill and Parkhouse areas of Glasgow.
The project is being delivered for Scottish Water by Caledonia Water Alliance and is expected to be completed in late 2023 or early 2024.
