A JET2 flight headed to Glasgow had to make an emergency landing after the crew declared an incident mid-air.
The aircraft, flight LS176, was travelling to the city from Tenerife during the early hours of Wednesday morning when a Squawk 7700 was signalled near Ireland.
This code is used to communicate on-flight emergencies and, depending on the nature and severity of the situation, crews may conduct checks before formally declaring an emergency.
Satellite imagery from FlightRadar24 shows the plane heading over the Atlantic Ocean and turning shortly before it reached Cork at around 2am.
Jet2 confirmed that the flight was diverted to Ireland as a passenger needed medical attention.
The aircraft later continued on to Glasgow Airport.
A Jet2 spokesperson said: "We can confirm that flight LS176 from Tenerife to Glasgow diverted to Cork in the early hours of this morning (July 3), due to a customer requiring medical assistance.
"The aircraft subsequently departed for Glasgow Airport."
Cork Airport has been contacted for comment.
