Glasgow's skies have once again been treated to a military aircraft causing quite a racket while flying over the city.
Residents could hear the sound of a US Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster flying overheard around 10:10am this morning as it made its way from RAF Leuchars near St Andrews to Glasgow Prestwick.
The US Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster, which has a wingspan of 51 metres and can transport 100,000lb (45,360kg) of freight more than 4,500 miles while flying at altitudes above 35,000ft, had earlier departed from Pittsburgh in the USA.

Global flight tracking service Flightradar24 shows the plane flew directly above Glasgow at a height of 7,750 ft, passing over Maryhill, the Botanic Gardens, Partick and Cardonald on its way towards Prestwick, where it landed at 10:20am.
Excited planespotters - or 'AV geeks' - took to Twitter to share news of the flight as it passed over the city amid cloudy skies.
One tweeted: "USAF RCH241 Boeing C-17A Globemaster plane spotted over Glasgow having departed from Leuchars".
Another wrote: "C17 RCH241 from Pittsburgh to St Andrews - diverted to Prestwick?" while sharing its flight path.
