Supermarket giant Asda has announced that they are to place limits on certain fruits and vegetables.
It comes as the retailer is facing shortages of fresh produce with customers now only being able to buy certain products in a maximum quantity of three. This covers tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflowers, salad bags and raspberry punnets.
Extreme weather in Spain and north Africa have affected harvests, reports the BBC, with floods, snow and hail all affecting supply. However, the extreme weather is just one of many factors resulting in the ongoing issues.

Although a significant proportion of what the UK consumes usually comes from Spain and northern Africa.
And in the UK and Netherlands, farmers have cut back on their use of greenhouses to grow winter crops due to higher electricity prices.
Glasgow locals have been taking to social media to share what their local stores are looking like with people snapping photos of bare shelves with notices also being displayed in Asda stores across the city, updating customer on the latest rules and why they are having to put these measure in place.
An Asda spokesperson said: "Like other supermarkets, we are experiencing sourcing challenges on some products that are grown in southern Spain and north Africa."
Andrew Opie, director of Food and Sustainability at the British Retail Consortium said the disruption was expected to last for "a few weeks" adding that supermarkets are "adept at managing supply chain issues and are working with farmers to ensure that customers are able to access a wide range of fresh produce."
A spokesperson for Marks & Spencer said the group was not immune from the supply issues but had mitigated by sourcing from alternative growing markets.
