Glasgow to Seville travel chaos as charted flights on game day delayed and moved airport

Rangers fans were left in a panic after two chartered flights set to take them to see the team compete in the Europa League Final appeared to be 'cancelled' just hours before take-off.

Glasgow Airport announced that the 05.00 and 07.15 charter flights to the Andalusian capital on Wednesday morning would not take off as planned following a change by the airline.

Football fans travelling on Carpatair flight V33512 were told the flight would take off from Glasgow Prestwick at a later scheduled time of 7.15am, reports the Daily Record.

On Tuesday, hundreds of fans faced a 10-hour delay to the departure of a charter flight to Jerez before it eventually left at 8.30pm last night.

It is understood a technical fault and cancelled airline slots caused the delays.

Glasgow Airport confirmed the flight changes and both aircrafts have since departed.
