GlasGLOW 'trolls' caught on CCTV plastering obscene graffiti at light show

CCTV footage has been released showing vandals plastering obscene slogans on GlasGLOW displays.

The video has been issue by show organisers after the shocking incident at the Botanic Gardens event in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Two so-called protestors can be seen spraying 'no Tory c***s allowed' on a banner while another looks directly at a camera and smiles before writing 'Greta was here' on a model dinosaur fossil head, the Daily Record reports.

Details of he attack emerged at the weekend with organisers branding attackers "trolls".

Oli Norman, CEO of itison, said: "Alongside the entire team I'm saddened and disgusted by the mindless vandalism that took place at GlasGLOW.

"This behaviour has nothing to do with the climate emergency or protecting wildlife, and everything to do with a small minority of individuals trying to tell us what we can and can't do in our public spaces.

CCTV video has helped identify those responsible (itison)

"We have been accused of 'green washing' for using biofuels and donating tens of thousands to local charities and labelled 'corporate greedy' for employing over 270 local people to deliver GlasgGLOW.

"We are a local company putting on an event bringing families and friends together to spread light and joy in the dark months. These trolls should be ashamed of themselves - not only are they disrupting a much-loved event, but they have undermined the cause of environmental groups that genuinely want to drive change."

And yesterday they revealed the names of those responsible have been reported to police.

An updated statement explained: "After information came forward yesterday we have all the names of the individuals who are now reported to the police.

"We're sad that people would target a family event in a local garden but thank everyone for their kind words - it means a lot. And the last thank you to our team who all came together to clean up the damage - you guys are amazing."

Police Scotland have confirmed they are investigating.
