Former Gladiators star Warren Furman has revealed he 'prays' for ex-fiancée Katie Price amid her hectic lifestyle in the public eye.
The pair met in 1997, but following a brief engagement, split after just 18 months together.
"We were both equally to blame for the breakdown of our relationship. We were both young, we were both courting the Press," Warren told the Sun of their relationship.
"We were very similar people, we came from working-class backgrounds and we got on very well, but the pressures of fame cursed the relationship in a lot of ways."
They split on good terms, however, with Katie later revealing that Warren was one of the few boyfriends she'd had who was faithful to her.
Now, Warren, who shot to fame under the guise of 'Ace' in the ITV gameshow said he also hopes 44-year-old Katie can turn her life round in the same way he has.
After finding himself in the limelight he dabbled with steroids in a bid to build up his body further, while turning to cigarettes and alcohol as he lived the television celebrity lifestyle.
Once the show was axed in 2000 leaving Warren's dreams of progressing to Hollywood in tatters, he found himself starring in pantomime before returning to the construction industry where he had started out.
He later found Christian faith, which he acknowledges played a huge part in him giving up boozing and smoking.
And discussing Katie, who recently spent time in rehab, further, he added: "I pray for her because in that lifestyle of hers it's very difficult to keep on the straight and narrow, and it’s very difficult to trust people. I pray that her family can stay together and I pray that she can settle down and find peace and happiness."
In her new eye-opening Channel 4 documentary, meanwhile, Katie speaks candidly about her diagnosis of PTSD and also explores what drove her to total breaking point last year when she crashed her vehicle while under the influence.
She is now taking the steps needed prevent a return to the dark days, and believes that her past trauma has been healed by going back and revisiting where everything went wrong for her.
