Manchester United supporters have been reacting to James Garner's comments about his exit from Old Trafford.
In an interview with The Times, the midfielder spoke of his disappointment at leaving to join Everton after being at United since a young age. United sold Garner to the Toffees on transfer deadline day for a fee of £15million.
He said: "I didn't want to stagnate. I didn't want to stay there really and when they said I could leave also, I was in agreement with that. I just think it all made sense. I don't want to be just another player who is there for numbers in training. I want to be a main part of the team whether that is a starter or coming off the bench."

Here is a selection of views from United fans on Garner's comments:
Baldric: "Wish him well but don't think he's good enough for Utd. Struggling to get into the Everton team. Glad to have a decisive manager at the helm who'll make a call and not have players lingering for several years before finally accepting they're not good enough."
Seanguitar: "Nothing will convince me that James Garner wouldn't have done better than Donny van de Beek in the last two games."
JEA: "I wouldn’t have let him go and games like Villa are where you want a younger player with a bit of bite over Eriksen. Was really short-sighted I thought from United to let Garner go."
Rune Toftlund: "Feel like Garner should've stayed at United since Everton are in freefall."
TotoEP: "Didn't want to stagnate and yet that's exactly what's happening at Everton. They barely play Garner in the Premier League, and just watched the Cup match vs Bournemouth, only played 51 minutes, and got subbed, now they are out of the Carabao Cup, won't play again until the FA Cup starts. Bad move there kid."
