Manchester City supporters have pointed out that Pep Guardiola has recently re-committed his future to the Blues and so would be unlikely to take up the national team job at Brazil, amid reports linking him to the position.
SPORT claims the South Americans are hoping to enquire about the Blues manager’s availability to fill the void left by head coach Tite, who exited after Brazil’s World Cup quarter-final exit to Croatia.
Guardiola penned a new two-year contract extension at City last month after questions hung over his future given his former deal was due to expire next summer. Speaking upon the announcement, the boss said: “From day one I felt something special being here. I cannot be in a better place."

City fans were delighted with the news that their most successful manager was staying, so were quick to dismiss the reports of Brazil’s reported pending approach. While it is possible to both manage a club and national team at the same time, it is scarcely ever seen due to commitment concerns and conflict of interest issues.
One high-profile example is when Sir Alex Ferguson, then boss of Aberdeen, took charge of Scotland for the 1986 World Cup at short notice following the tragic sudden death of Jock Stein. He stepped down after the finals before his appointment at Manchester United.
Another is Gus Hiddink, who took charge of Chelsea in 2009 while he was the head coach of Russia. His spell at Stamford Bridge was only as an interim boss but the news did not go down well with national team supporters.
And it looks as though City fans believe such a clash of duties will not see Guardiola take up the Brazil role if ever offered it, given his club responsibilities. Reacting to the reports on Twitter, supporters pointed out that the Catalan coach’s deal agreement is evidence that the 51-year-old would turn down such an opportunity.
