Raheem Sterling entered the Manchester City history books in style as he entered the top 10 of the club’s all-time leading goalscorers.
The England international produced a stunning strike to continue City’s domination against Sporting Lisbon in their Champions League last-16 tie as they took a 5-0 lead in the first leg.
Sterling curled in a brilliant 20-yard effort for the Blues’ fifth of the night, with their progression to the quarter-finals all-but confirmed with the second leg at the Etihad still to play.
And the goal brought up a major milestone for the 27-year-old, with his 127th strike for City seeing him move into the top 10 of the club’s highest scorers.

His latest goal – the 150th of his club career – saw him move past Alec Herd into 10th outright, with just another six goals needed for him to move up another place in the rankings.
And City’s fans lauded Sterling’s latest achievement as they celebrated his spectacular goal in Portugal.
Sterling still has some way to go if he’s to make it to the top of City’s all-time list, with his former team-mate Sergio Aguero still way out in front.
The Argentine, who retired from football in December, sits top with 260 goals to his name in City colours, but Sterling is certainly on his way, and he will no doubt have more to add this season.
