Gisele Bundchen has broken her silence on her divorce from Tom Brady and admitted their split felt like "the death of my dream".
The couple filed for divorce back in October following 13 years of marriage, with NFL star Tom describing the decision as "painful and difficult".
42-year-old Gisele has now said it was a "heartbreaking" decision to make after imagining her life going in a different direction.
"It's tough because you imagine your life was going to be a certain way, and you did everything you could, you know? I believed in fairy tales when I was a kid. I think it’s beautiful to believe in that," she said in a new interview.
The model said she put everything into her relationship in the hopes of achieving her dream.
"You give everything you got to achieve your dream. You give a hundred percent of yourself, and it’s heartbreaking when it doesn’t end up the way you hoped for, and worked for."
She said she is now mourning "the death of my dream".
Despite their split, Gisele said she will continue to support Tom and said she wishes him all the happiness.
"If there’s one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it's him, believe me. I want him to achieve and to conquer. I want all his dreams to come true," she told Vanity Fair.
Gisele and Tom started dating back in December 2006 and tied the knot in February 2009.
The former couple share two children together — Benjamin, 13 and Vivian, 10 — and they announced their decision to separate in a statement on Instagram.
Taking to the social media site, Tom explained they had reached the "difficult" and "painful" decision to end their marriage after 13 years.
His statement read: "We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.
"We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the centre of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.
"We arrived at this decision to end our marriage after much consideration.
"Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, like it is for many people who go through the same thing every day around the world.
"However we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written."
