Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh has revealed that Emmerdale turned her down for a role on the ITV soap, despite sister Amy taking on a prominent role.
Kimberley’s sister Amy Walsh starrs on the soap as Tracy Metcalfe whilst her other sister Sally also appeared on the soap between 1997 and 2000 as Lyn Hutchinson.
Amy is currently off the soap after welcoming her child, which she shares with former EastEnders star Toby Alexander-Smith. it is not known when she will make a return to the soap.
Kimberley revealed that she hasn't been asked to star on the soap, but is happy with it just being her sister Amy's thing for the time now.
She told The Sun's Fabulous magazine: "They haven’t asked me. I auditioned for it in the past, but they haven’t gone for the hat-trick. It would be funny to go in for a couple of episodes, but that’s definitely Amy’s thing, and I’m happy to leave it to her."
The singer admitted there wouldn't be a chance for her to do it now as she's too busy with her family and other parts of her career, The Mirror reports. She added: "Any soap is just so full-on and a lifestyle choice, which I just can’t really do right now."
Kimberley is currently presenting BBC Morning Live, and hopes to do some more presenting work in future. She said: "I’m hoping I can do a bit more live TV. I’ve never been a planner, but I’ve always trusted my gut and it’s worked out.”
