Girl airlifted to Alder Hey after being hit by car

A girl was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car.

The crash happened on Heol Eifion in Wrexham, North Wales, at around 8.50am on Sunday morning, August 7. According to eye witnesses, the incident involved a car and a young girl who was taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital by air ambulance.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and an air ambulance landed on a green near Gardden Road before the child was taken to the hospital, North Wales Live reports.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called on Sunday at 8.50am to reports of a road traffic collision involving a person and vehicle on Heol Eifion, Rhosllanerchrugog. We sent one emergency ambulance and a duty operations manager to the scene, where we were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance.

"One person was transported to Alder Hey Hospital for further treatment.”

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "We were called shortly before 9am on Sunday to a report of an RTC near Gardden Road, Rhos involving a car and a pedestrian.

"Officers were in attendance, along with colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service."
