A nine-year-old schoolgirl was 'grabbed' by a man at a playpark in Midlothian.

Officers say the incident at Waverley Park in Bonnyrigg happened on Friday, August 26, at around 3pm. The nine-year-old was said to be playing alone when the man approached.

Cops say the man then "grabbed her" and confirmed they have now started an investigation into the incident. Anyone with information that might help their enquiries should contact Police Scotland.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received report of a nine-year-old girl having been approached and grabbed by a man at Waverley Park in Bonnyrigg at around 3pm on Friday, August 26.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
