Footage shows the moment local authorities comfort a lost five-year-old girl spotted wandering the side of a Colorado road - barefoot and alone.
The officer, a sergeant, is seen offering the little girl a snack of strawberries and chocolate hummus - while colleagues in the Sheriff's office located her family.
But the sassy girl had the office in stitches when she asked: "Why don't you have donuts?" at which the laughing sergeant explained the strawberry snack was much healthier than doughnuts.
The sergeant popped a bicep and said: "These aren't donut muscles," to which the little girl responded "show me your muscles!"
The Jefferson County Sheriff's office revealed the little girl had simply wandered away from her family, who lived near by.
Public information officer Karlyn Tilley said: "She was found at 10:45 a.m. on June 15 - walking on a sidewalk in her neighborhood.
"A resident spotted her by herself and she told him she was lost."
The little girl was found in the South Allison Way neighbourhood of Lakewood, Colorado, USA. Local authorities are unsure how long she had been missing.
The little girl's home was located within half an hour, and she was returned to her grandmother after officers determined she was being looked after.
Karlyn Tilley said: "For our men and women out on patrol, this kind of personal, empathetic and human interaction happens every day.
"We take our responsibility seriously about protecting, serving, and respecting our community.
"What you see in this video is a very kind and professional man, comforting a scared little girl."
The film was shot on June 15.
