A 16-year-old girl was shot early Friday as a relative was parking a car in Roseland on the Far South Side.
The shooting occurred less than a mile away from where a 21-year-old man was killed and three others were wounded hours earlier.
The girl was in the car when someone in a passing sedan opened fire in the 8000 block of South Stewart Avenue about 2:20 a.m., Chicago police said.
She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the torso, police said. She was listed in serious condition.
No one was in custody.
