Girl, 10, rushed to hospital after being hit by car in Aberdeen as man arrested

A 10-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Aberdeen this afternoon.

Emergency services attended the incident in the Great Northern Road area shortly before 3.30pm on Friday.

Police confirmed a 20-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.

The youngster was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. The extent of her injuries is not yet known, Aberdeen Live reports.

The road was closed for several hours following the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.25pm on Friday, 28 April, 2023, police received a report of a 10-year-old girl having been struck by a vehicle in the Great Northern Road area of Aberdeen.

“Emergency services attended and she was taken to hospital for treatment. A 20-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
