GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST has vowed to fight on as Rangers manager as he prepares for a make-or-break Premiership clash with Aberdeen.
The Dutchman is under mounting pressure at Ibrox in the aftermath of successive 4-0 defeats to Celtic and Ajax that have raised real questions over his position going forward.
Rangers saw their Group A schedule get off to a disastrous start on Wednesday evening as they were outclassed in Amsterdam just days after being humbled in the first Old Firm derby of the season.
A trip to Pittodrie is now an ominous challenge for a side that are five points adrift in the title race and in desperate need of a result to kick-start their campaign to ease fears amongst disgruntled supporters.
And Van Bronckhorst knows significant improvement is required urgently ahead of the Dons clash and visit of Napoli as he prepares for another defining double-header in the coming days.
Van Bronckhorst said: "It is eight goals in two games. That is too much for Rangers. That can never happen.
"With a team who is very strong in the Champions League you can lose a game but you see the way we gifted the goals.
"It we have a big game on Saturday against Aberdeen which is also a tough game for us so it is going to be a real fight.
"To have to two defeats by Celtic and Ajax, 4-0 twice, is a heavy loss. We have to bounce back.
“It won't be easy of course because the knock we had on Saturday and [Wednesday], it is not going to be easy but it is the only thing we can do.
“Saturday is a big game for us, it is a tough game at Pittodrie, we have two days to prepare.
“Sometimes in football you taste victory and success and sometimes you feel defeat and feel very low but when I have those moments as a coach, they are the moments I want to fight even more and I expect that from my players as well, to be successful against Aberdeen.”
