GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST has called on the Ibrox crowd to play its part and inspire Rangers to Champions League success against PSV.
The Dutch giants have made the trip to Glasgow for the first leg of the play-off tie aiming to capitalise on their win over Monaco and secure a group stage berth this term.
But Ruud van Nistelrooy's side will have to handle the heat at a packed Ibrox this evening as Rangers attempt to secure a positive result to take to Eindhoven next week.
A memorable night under the floodlights saw Rangers emerge as 3-0 winners over Union Saint-Gilloise as the Belgians wilted under the pressure on and off the park.
And former Feyenoord boss Van Bronckhorst knows all too well the power of the people as he urged supporters to act as the twelfth man once again on the European stage.
"Obviously they are both clubs I played for and also coached," Van Bronckhorst said when asked about the atmosphere at Ibrox and De Kuip. "It is a big factor at Feyenoord and also here when you have the great support of the fans.
"I think you make it extra special and even more hectic if the performance on the pitch is there because then it will become stronger and stronger.
"That is what we have to do and achieve and make sure we are on top of our game. The fans are a big influence.
"If you play away from home and the support is really there, it is a different environment.
"We have seen all the teams who came here who felt that and we have to make sure that our performance is there and that combined with the atmosphere Ibrox is always on European nights we should have a good result.
"We have to take into account the quality of the opponent and prepare well tactically what we want.
"I came in November and the first game was against Sparta Prague in the Europa League and the atmosphere was fantastic.
"Every game we played after that I think the atmosphere is there. I have no doubt that it will be the same."
