Giovanni van Bronckhorst details chat with Rangers star Glen Kamara after racism claim on Finland duty

GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST insists Glen Kamara is fully focused on football after finding himself at the centre of another racism storm.

The midfielder was shamefully abused by Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela during a Europa League clash at Ibrox last March.

Kudela denied the claims but was handed a ten-game ban by UEFA as Rangers and figures across the game rallied round Kamara in his hour of need.

But the Finnish internationalist decided not to make a public complaint after an alleged incident during the Nations League clash with Montenegro on Monday night.

No further action will be taken by UEFA on this occasion and Ibrox boss Van Bronckhorst told Sky Sports: "I spoke with Glen when he came back from the international games. Of course he had a bad experience again, unfortunately.

"It's something I spoke with him about. He doesn't want to think about it. He just wants to go on and keep his focus on being here.

"I think [he just wants to show what he can do on the field]. Of course a couple of years ago he had a bad experience, for him himself it was difficult with everything surrounding that.

"So he'd rather stay focused on his football. That doesn't mean that is a thing we can take lightly."
