Giovanna Fletcher was hit by some unwanted hotel drama after her show in Newcastle on Wednesday night, when plans for an early night were ruined by her being locked out of her hotel room.
Queen of the Jungle when I'm A Celebrity made the switch to Wales in 2020, Giovanna is currently treading the boards at the Theatre Royal in Wish You Were Dead, the Peter James thriller which brings TV sleuth Roy Grace to the stage once again.
In the same week that Grace will make its return to ITV for a third run, Giovanna is playing Cleo, Grace's wife, in the stage thriller which sees the couple go on a relaxing trip away, only for it to turn into the holiday from hell.
Wish You Were Dead opened at the Theatre Royal on Monday and there still a few chances to see Giovanna and her co-stars, including Casualty legend Clive Mantel, in action before the show ends its Tyneside run on Saturday evening.
Having caught up with friend Rosie Ramsey at a Newcastle restaurant on Monday and headed out with fellow cast members for a spot of bowling at Lane7 on Tuesday night, Giovanna opted for a quiet one when the curtain came down on Grey Street on Wednesday, turning down post-show beverages to head straight to bed.
However, her plans for an early night were thwarted when she got back to her hotel, as she was unable to get into her room. Sharing what had happened on her Instagram story, the podcast favourite and best selling author posted a selfie with a very visible grimace on her face and captioned it: "When you skip drinks to have an early night, but find your hotel door is broken and have to wait for maintenance."
Giovanna has been earning glowing reviews from fans in Newcastle and around the country for her performances in Wish You Were Dead so far, with other Geordie followers telling her how excited they were at coming to see her in action at the weekend.
