Giorgos Giakoumakis is up and running at Atlanta United as the big Greek striker bagged his first goal.
The former Celtic striker made the switch to the MLS during the January transfer window after 18 months in Glasgow. Ange Postecoglou snapped him up from Dutch vide VVV-Venlo and in his short period at the club he established himself as a real fans' favourite. His goal record was also solid with 26 in 57 outings for the Hoops including a goal in the Champions League this season.
But he decided to head off for a new challenge and he's now off the mark in just his third appearance for the club. His first two outings came off the substitute bench with 30 minute run outs but he was pitched in from the start against Portland and rewarded the faith of his new manager with a headed goal on the hour mark.

Caleb Wiley, Luis Araujo and Thiago Almada twice were the other scorers on the day with Tega Ikoba grabbing a consolation for the visitors as Atlanta made it three wins and one draw from the opening four games of the new campaign.
Reacting to his first goal, the hitman told his team-mates in the dressing room to a huge cheer: "I'm really happy and I think we can do great things in the future."
Next up is an away trip to Columbus before back to back games against New York Red Bulls and New York City with the latter an away day.
