Celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo has revealed he is leaving popular ITV daytime show This Morning. According to OK, Gino shared his future plans on yesterday's (Tuesday March 29) episode, when he told viewers that he will be taking a trip to Italy.
The 45-year-old chef said: “I was just walking around because I am a little bit sad today because I am going to go to Italy very soon, so this is my last This Morning, until probably autumn or winter." Presenter Phillip Schofield joked: “Thank God for that."
Gino replied with an invitation for Phillip and co-host Holly Willoughby to join him. He said, “Unless you two are going to come to the island of Sardinia and do something live there. Do not panic, because I have so many beautiful things for you."
Gino first appeared on This Morning in 2009. He has previously spoken of his ideal working schedule, which would entail time off for half of the year.
"I've been having six months off for the last eight to 10 years," he said at the time. "I am a great believer that you need to have balance in life."
The Italian chef went on to say that he believes life shouldn't "always be about work", and working for six months should be rewarded with the same amount of break and holidays.
