Gino D'ACampo took a savage swipe at Holly Willoughby during Thursday's an appearance, hours after the host warned viewers that he'd be making an appearance.
TV chef Gino has been a regular on This Morning for years now, often chaos on set as he leads cooking demonstration and cracks jokes at the expense of Holly and her co-host Phillip Schofield. The former I'm A Celebrity champion recently made his return to the ITV show after a long leave of absence, which saw him return to his home land of Sardinia.
His comeback coincided with the launch of his new ITV series and accompanying cook book, as well as a special This Morning mini-series Gino in Sardinia. was full of beans as he joined Phillip and Holly live in the studio on Thursday, with the hosts and chef trading places as they stood in the kitchen and he sat on the hosts' famous couch.
Pre-empting that something might go awry as camera rolled, Holly warned viewers: "Hold on tight as literally anything could happen," before, on Phillip's suggestion that they 'swap back,' Gino seemed reluctant to move. Clearly determined to make his presence felt, Gino remained on the sofa and then shouted at Holly, who was dressed in a leopard print dress: "Hello Wilma! Yaba Dabba Do!"
Holly swiftly retaliated by whacking Gino on the arm as he quizzed: "Why are you dressed like a Flintstone?! Where is the bone?" Holly explained the reasoning behind her choice of outfit, remarking: "We're doing leopard print in fashion today," as he maintained she "looked like a Flintstone."
Rather wisely, Gino then retreated to the safety of his kitchen, doing some backtracking and telling Holly she looked beautiful, but then cheekily adding "like a Flintstone."
Gino's dig at Holly came after she predicted he might cause some chaos in the studio, before This Morning went on air. Sharing a backstage pictured of herself in the very same leopard print dress Gino took exception to, Holly wrote: "today is a @iamginodacampo takeover on @thismorning … buckle up and hold on tight!"
