Gino D'Acampo has opened up about his marriage to Jessica Morrison and admitted he rarely calls his wife when he's away for work.
The celebrity chef, 46, insisted "there is no need" to call Jessica unless something serious has happened and said he hits out at his friends for "living forever" in their wives' pockets.
Gino and Jessica tied the knot back in 2002 and showed off their love for one another last year when they renewed their vows on Gino's ITV show, Gino's Family Adventure.
The loved-up couple share three children together — Luciano, 21, Rocco, 18, and Mia, 10.
"I could be filming in Italy or somewhere in the world for two weeks and I would perhaps call my wife once, or twice," Gino admitted in a new interview.
The TV personality said there is "no need" for him to call Jessica unless he wants to hear from her "or if something happened".
"What’s the point in bothering your wife to the point I need to pretend to want to make a phone call is insane! I don’t buy into it," he said.
Gino admitted that his relationship is very different to the relationship his friends have with their wives, saying his pals will often call their other half during boys' night.
"I’m always the one who complains, and they explain that if they don't, their wife will be angry at them tonight," he told the Express.
Gino questioned the "kind of relationship" his friends have, labelling it "crazy".
Elsewhere in the interview, Gino praised his wife and said she is "a very clever woman" who "understood me from day one".
Jessica and Gino first met as teenagers, when the Italian chef was working in Sylvester Stallone’s Mambo King restaurant in Marbella
The two have since enjoyed a whirlwind romance, but it hasn't all been plain sailing for the pair.
The couple temporarily split for a year, with Gino insisting it only made his love for Jessica grow stronger.
The split confirmed Jessica was the only girl for him and they relocated to the UK to pick up where they left off.
