Gino D'Acampo has announced that he's quit a popular ITV show leaving fans gutted with the news. The celebrity chef has told fans he has quit filming Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip.
The series sees Gino alongside fellow chef Gordon Ramsay and First Dates maître d' Fred Sirieix pack up a campervan and hit the open road, visiting various countries and cities, where they explore local culture and cuisine while also trying out some interesting traditions along the way.
But Gino has now broken the news to fans that he'll no longer be part of the show as he admitted that is was impossible to continue after three series.
In a video posted on Instagram on Sunday night (March 19), the 46-year-old said: "Last week I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road trips. The reason is very simple – nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong.
"It’s just because we can’t get the dates together and sometimes when we do get the dates together sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me because I have other stuff that I have to do. Personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family it is very complicated."
The This Morning regular then later added: "So I have decided not to do it anymore because I want to be friends with the boys for many, many years ahead." And fans were quick to respond to the post which he captioned: "And now the end is here and so I face that final curtain… #GordonGinoandFred GDx."
@jewel.will2017 said: "Ooooh noooo I love the three of you travelling together it’s so funny & down to earth. All the best with your future endeavours & look forward to any of your cooking programmes especially family ones."
@strettonpauline commented: "Fair enough, but who will I laugh with now." @lisabraden70 replied: "Oh no, that is so sad , its one of mine and my daughters fav programmes." @caiti_ho wrote: "I understand but damn [crying emoji] my little piece of hope that y’all would visit Southern Africa." @anitasherita added: "Omg its my favorite program [crying emoji]. The selfish side of me want 10 more seasons. I respect your decision! Thank you."
The Manchester Evening News has contacted ITV for comment.
